Gilna Optometrists is an independent optometrist based in Ennistymon since 2007 and previously in Lahinch since 2005. Over the years we have built up a reputation for skilled eye care providing each patient with a superb standard of eye examination. We stock a wide variety of spectacles and sunglasses to suit all budgets. Our trained staff are always on hand to assist with choosing the perfect frame for you.

We have the latest in optical technology allowing us to provide a comprehensive examination of the eyes. Our newest piece of equipment here at Gilna Optometrists is an OCT (Ocular Coherence Tomography) instrument that scans the many layers of the eye from the cornea to the retina and will detect eye pathology. If our findings show any abnormalities or cause any concern, we will refer you on for consultation to a doctor or ophthalmologist for a more extensive examination.

We are also partners with Carl Zeiss the world’s leading manufacturer of precision optical lenses. We use Carl Zeiss technology to assess frame fit and measure lens settings. This information directly inputs into the surfacing of your lenses at the Carl Zeiss production facility in Jena, Germany.
