Keratoconus is a progressive eye disease which causes distorted vision.

The cornea is normally round but Keratoconus causes it to thin, in which case it begins to bulge into a cone-like shape.

This cone shape deflects light as it enters the eye on its way to the light-sensitive retina and causes the distorted vision.
